How to provision ArborXR configuration packages on your VR devices

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to provision ArborXR configuration packages with the Moth+Flame app to your VR devices using the ArborXR Device Setup App. You should follow this method when you need to configure multiple devices or apply specific settings, apps, or files across your VR fleet. This process simplifies the setup by using a pre-downloaded configuration package and can be used in environments that don't have access to wifi (so long as the configuration package is downloaded in advance).

Provision the Configuration Package to Devices

  1. Ensure the configuration package is downloaded to the PC being used to provision devices. If your device fleet was provisioned through us, it will already have USB  debugging enabled. For more information on enabling USB debugging and developer mode, see this collection of knowledge base articles.
  2. Tether devices to the PC via USB-C and accept any in-VR prompts if your device requires it.
  3. Download the Device Setup App. (If you're using a DOD computer, we will send this file to you via a shared drive)
    • Alternatively, if you don't have an ArborXR account, download and install the respective version below for your computer.
  4. Launch the Device Setup App then select Provision with Configuration Package.
  5. Select the configuration package from your system file browser.
    • 💡 After selecting the configuration package, it will take a few minutes for the Device Setup App to extract and read the contents of the package. During this time you will continue to see the log-in page.
  6. Once the configuration package has been extracted, select the checkbox for your device then click Set Up.
