How to Re-Provision a Device

How to Re-Provision a Device

Factory Reset the headset:

  1. Turn off your headset
  2. Hold down the power and volume (-) button simultaneously until the boot screen loads
  3. Use the volume buttons to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button
  4. Use the volume buttons to highlight Yes and press the power button

Provision the headset and load the application using SideQuest and ArborXR

  1. Login to Meta Horizon with your account details. Check with your Moth+Flame Customer Success Manager if you do not have these details. You’ll need your phone (with the Meta Horizon app installed) and wifi.
  2. Pair the headset and controllers by going to the Meta Horizon app and selecting the goggle icon at the top left. Then select the goggle(+) icon at the top right in the modal that pops up. Input the pin code that is given.
  3. Put on your headset and download the Meta update. This will take several minutes.
  4. Turn on developer mode - Click on the goggle icon and go to headset settings in the modal that pops up. Switch on developer mode.
  5. Turn off Boundary to prevent immersion disruptions and turn on Hand Tracking to enable controller-free use.
  6. Upload the .apk to the headset via SideQuest. To upload the file, click on the icon of the folder with the "down arrow" and then select the apk from the location it was placed. Check to see that it uploaded successfully by going to the task list in SideQuest (the icon with 3 horizontal lines and a checkmark).
  7. Launch the Moth+Flame app (you can do this from SideQuest by going to the 9-dot icon, finding "com.MothAndFlame.MFConversation..." application in the list and selecting the gear icon. Then select "launch."
  8. Register your headset - Moth+Flame will provide you with a registration link (1 link per headset). Click that link and input the 4 digit code that you see. (Here's an article with visuals. Start with step 5).
  9. Upload the configuration file (provided to you from Moth+Flame) using the ArborXR Device Setup App and the configuration file.
  10. Turn WiFi off and keep it off indefinitely unless a Moth+Flame representative advises that it be turned on.
